Reading Counts
Lacy Elementary students are now using Scholastic's Reading Counts Program. Similar to the Accelerated Reader Program we have been using for past years, after reading a book students answer questions on that book on the computer.
We still have Accelerated Reader and it is still being used, but any new tests that we get will be purchased in Reading Counts. Right now we have about 1500 titles in Reading Counts.
When students start the program they take a diagnostic test that places them at a lexile level. The children can print out a list of books at that lexile level for them to pick to read from.
