Accelerated Reader
Here at LACY ELEMENTARY we love the Accelerated Reader Program. Basically students choose their own books and read them at their own pace. Accelerated Reader facilitates students reading books at the appropriate level for optimum growth. Then students take a quiz on the computer. Both the student and the teacher get immediate, individualized, constructive feedback that directs ongoing reading practice.
At present LACY ELEMENTARY is busy coordinating their reading book room titles which are organized in packets of six books with AR testing and feedback options. This enables teachers to integrate Literature Circle programs and discussions with the AR structure. Very exciting for us all!
